Being a mother is undoubtedly one of the things that has been a tremendous source of joy in my life. It is also one of the things that has been a source of anguish and has driven me to tears. There have been times when I have found myself shaken to my core with feelings of inadequacy and insecurity. If you saw me, you probably couldn’t tell because I put that picture perfect smile on (you know the one) and kept my head up high – acting like nothing was wrong.
Motherhood is not for the faint of heart. And despite all of the gorgeous Pinterest pictures, there is not much that can prepare you for the journey. Many of us look to our own mothers for motherhood encouragement during the difficult days. Others may look to women in the church or friends for words of wisdom. Yet, like most of us, Mary’s journey is not totally unlike anyone else’s. We can look at her story – and the truths that are found in God’s Word for motherhood encouragement.
I want to share five takeaways with you from Mary’s life and story that have inspired me.

With a cold latte in hand and my latest read under my arm, I'm usually seen looking for monster trucks and chasing my little people. In my spare time, you will catch me spending time with family and friends, at live music festivals and on the hunt for a new favorite dessert.
